Last Friday, I was out walking Julip and I noticed a big commotion at the end of my street. I walked over to see what was going on, and it was some big production company filming a Head and Shoulders commercial! Very random that they’d be doing that in Lowell, but my neighborhood is really charming and attractive, so I can understand why they’d pick it for the location. They shot at nearly every corner, and EVERYONE was talking about it. So now Downtown Lowell will be known for mill textiles and Head and Shoulders.
Saturday night, I went to Shah and Brian’s for dinner with my parents. (My dad’s helping them with planning a renovation on their home). My dad recently fell again and broke eight ribs, so he was a total trooper the whole time he was there. Anyhow, we’re having dinner and there’s a knock on the door from their crazy neighbor. She said she broke her phone and she was waiting for a call from her son in Oregon and can she have one of their phones? She knew they were having a dinner party and just kept talking and asking for their phone. Then she asked if they had a cigarette and Shah started talking about how he quit smoking and feels so much better. We all sat listening on the other side of the door – it was so surreal.
Sunday morning, I rolled out of bed looking half-awake and took Julip out at her usual 7:30 time. Not two minutes after we walked outside, a woman came up to us with a camera and asked if she could take some pictures of Julip for a photography project she was doing. I told her it was fine as long as I wasn’t in the picture. lol I mean, who goes out in the freezing cold at 7:30 am on a Sunday if they don’t have to?!?
Anyhow, I found all of these things mildly amusing. Life is just quirky and weird and wonderful, and as I get older, I start to see how random and chaotic and awesome it really is. Here’s to more weirdness in my days!
