Tonight we’ll be discussing childhood obesity, and in particular parenting obese and overweight children and teens and how the media affects the self-esteem of our children. In the weight loss surgery community, many of us grew up with weight problems and have had the benefit in recent years to have more nutritional education available to us. Still, many of us still go back to old habits out of convenience, for financial reasons and more. We’re looking for listeners to call-in tonight and discuss their own personal histories as overweight or obese children, and what role that plays in their parenting style today.
Also on the show tonight is Dr. Carolyn Dean (www.drcarolyndean.com). Dr. Dean is a diet and childhood obesity expert who has written on the subject in her books.
