My youngest sister Megan has been life-long friends with her BFF Tegan. (I always loved that their names rhymed!) Tegan is a seriously bad-ass and cool chick: she’s an extremely talented tattoo artist, a pinup model, a wife, a mom, and most importantly, a really good friend to my sister. Tegan also has a very aggressive and invasive ductal breast cancer, which she writes about on her blog, “Tales of a Tattoo Mom.” From her website:
While my own personal health issues were quite different from Tegan’s, I know first-hand how devastating it can be to try to manage a family (both physically and financially) when you’re unable to work and fighting for your life. In these tough economic times, financial stress can be overwhelming, and I feel for Tegan and her husband having to worry about money, bills, and even just putting food on the table when she’s fighting to kick this cancer’s ass.
I’m lucky to have a pretty extensive network of folks both online and in the real world, and if every one of you donated even $1.00 to help out, that would be a nice chunk of change that would go a long way in helping Tegan and her family out.
