Diva Taunia is an RNY Gastric Bypass Post-Op. She had weight loss surgery on March 25, 2008 with Dr. Donald Hess at Boston Medical Center in Boston ,MA.
Her highest recorded weight at 5’7″ was 311 lbs and she had the following co-morbidities: pre-diabetes, gout, sleep apnea, PCOS, and GERD. All of those conditions have been resolved since surgery.
She continues to perform as a jazz vocalist, but has since become the choreographer of a 50+ cast and crew burlesque and cabaret show, The Diva Taunia Dolls.

My name is Cherie, I am 34 years old soon to turn 35 on 7\14\12.. Ugh.. And am in barking on my journey to having gastric bypass soon. I have been back and forth on my decision for over a year now, cause I am scared to death. I have had the lap band done 5 years ago and I lost weight but had the issues with the dilation of my esophagus. Reading your blogs has put my mind at ease with my decision. I to suffer from anxiety and panic disorder, And I hope I can be pill free some day. You are truly a beautiful inspiration inside and out!
