Dr. Scott Cuneen, MD, FACS, is Director of Bariatric Surgery at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. He holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Notre Dame, a master’s degree in physiology from Georgetown University and a master’s degree in human nutrition from the Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. He earned his medical degree from Georgetown University, where he was awarded membership in the medical honor society Alpha Omega Alpha. A Fellow of the American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgeons, Dr. Cunneen is often called upon to teach laparoscopic procedures throughout the U.S. and abroad. He is co-author of “Weighty Issues”.
Dr. Donald Hess, MD, FACS is the Chief and Director of Bariatric Surgery at Boston Medical Center. Dr. Hess performed Diva Taunia’s RNY Gastric Bypass Surgery on March 25, 2008, and she continues to sing (literally!) his praises for changing her life. Boston Medical Center’s Bariatric Surgical Program is recognized as a Center of Excellence by the American College of Surgeons. Dr. Hess is Board Certified by the American College of Surgeons, and – as Taunia will readily tell you – one of the kindest, and most thoughtful surgeons in the Boston area.
