DS: duodenal switch
DUMPING SYNDROME: a condition where ingested foods bypass the stomach too rapidly and enter the small intestine largely undigested
FF: fat free
Freak : surgically altered freak/ wls post op (mainly over at BTV!)
GERD: gastro-esophageal reflux disease
OH: Obesity Help
LOSER’S BENCH: A metaphor for where all post-ops go and sit together after surgery.
LC: low carb
M&G: Meet & Greet
MINI GB: mini gastric bypass
MO: morbid obesity
NEWBIE: person new to the community
NON-SCALE VICTORY: a way to measure success without using the scale
NSAIDS: non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs
NSV: non-scale victory
NUT: nutritionist
ONEDERLAND: leaving the “200′s” or when you reach a weight of 199 lbs or below
PCP: primary care physican
PRE-OP: patient before surgery
PMA: positive mental attitude
POST-OP: patient after surgery
POUCH: the stomach after surgery
PB: productive burping
RTD: ready to drink
RNY: roux-en-y (gastric bypass surgery)
SF: sugar free
SLEEVE: stomach after vertical sleeve gastrectomy
VSG: Vertical Sleeve Gastrectomy
WLS Class: the year you had your surgery
WLSFA: Weight Loss Surgery Foundation of America

Thought of another few …. “Pyloric valve” lost during RNY – Replaced with a Stoma – Loss may cause dumping syndrome …. And “dumping syndrome” – and “stoma” – “Stricture”
